UNARCO WOOD-FILLED UPRIGHT COLUMN INSERT FOR PALLET RACK
UNARCO's Wood Filled Upright Column
Insert combines two materials for
one amazing result. The energy from
impact is absorbed by wood helping the
pallet rack upright column better maintain
it's shape and integrity. Specially
routed hardwood is shipped inside the column
in any height needed. The shape allows
for beam placement in both
T-Bolt and
Interchangeable
pallet rack.
The UNARCO Wood Filled Column
was tested against structural upright column
shapes and an array of roll-formed upright
sizes. In trial after trial, the Wood
Filled Upright Column held it's shape better
against every column. The Wood Filled Column
structural integrity was maintained
throughout every iteration.
Testing involved the simulation of a moving
forklift and impact from a 1,000 pound
weight from 22" at a speed of 5.2 mph.
The Wood Filled Column
absorbed the shock and upright column damage
was nearly half of the damage of the
structural channels.
UNARCO uses treated wood to
maximize the longevity of the insert.
In addition, testing and engineering trials
have created the most effective shape to
allow perfect fit of T-Bolt and
Interchangeable beams against the post.
Inside the column, the wood transfers
the energy of the shock away from the steel
column which minimizes damage to the pallet
rack upright.
